Dearandrew...

Pools

"Cry," I tell her.

My arms surround her curled body.

"It's alright."

"One day,

when you have wept your final tear,

you will come upon that pool,

that contained every drop,

from every disappointment,

every betrayal,

every heartbreak.

And you will look down into it,

seeing your reflection alone."

"Only then will you have realized the necessity of your pain."

Rings

And in her last breath,

She whispered to me,

"Love does not have a beginning

nor an end.

It is not a line, but a ring.

And somewhere out there,

in those far-distant cosmos,

we are meeting for the first time."

Tangled

A tale of ancient love.

Their bodies hold no definition

They melt into one another,

Waiting too long.

Patience

He asks me, "In which life shall I find him again?"

"In every life," I respond.

Reborn in the next year, or a thousand past.

He will be there.

Patiently waiting.

Radiance

And to gaze upon her face

on this sparkling night,

I discover her eyes to be

the most radiant of the stars;

Immaculate.

He resides within me.

I wish we could speak, if just for a moment.

I would tell him I was happy.

I wonder if he would be jealous,

knowing I was happy without him.

I had no choice, after all.

Your father's laugh, and your mother's worries.

Your sister and I would race down the sidewalk.

I would always let her win.

She was truly quite fast!

As we fell into one another I asked you,

"Will you be mine through the past and future, now and forever?"

She turned her face from mine.

"No."

"Only tonight."
